William Dennis Wynne

William Dennis Wynne, of New Bern, NC, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2022.
Dennis was born October 30, 1959, to his father, William “Red” Ashford Wynne, and mother, Ida Stilley Wynne in New Bern, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He graduated from Havelock High School in 1978 and he married Michele Tripp Wynne that same year. They lived together in New Bern, NC, raising two children. Dennis was a millworker and kiln operator at Weyerhaeuser for many years until he retired in 2016.
His loved ones remember him as a kind, tenderhearted, and hardworking man, always trying to make others laugh. He had a great love for children and exceptional warmth in his heart for those who were unloved or unwanted.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Michele Tripp Wynne, two children, William Dillion Wynne (Kristen Wynne), Samantha Wynne, and grandchildren Delaney Olivia Wynne and Hayley Marie Cauley. He also leaves to cherish his memory his siblings Jeffery Wynne, Danny Johnson, and Dudley “Butch” Johnson.
Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, December 10th at 2 p.m. at Croatan Freewill Baptist Church, with a Celebration of Life ceremony to follow at 3 p.m., with Harry Bryan officiating. Burial will follow at the Wynne Family Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Craven County Health Department Foundation in Dennis’ name (please list his name or that it is for Care Management) to commemorate his charitable and sympathetic attitude towards children.
