Tyrone Mattocks

Tyrone Mattocks was born February 15, 1957, in Maysville, NC to Evelyn Mattocks and the late William Moore (Tom). He departed this life and entered into enteral rest on October 7, 2022, in the comfort of his home in Maysville, NC.

Tyrone also known as “Carlo” and “Teedee” attended Jones County Schools. After finishing school, he went directly into the work field of landscaping. He worked for over 20 years as a head landscaper for The Belgrade Nursey. When he wasn’t doing landscaping work you could find him fixing cars or building almost anything, because he was truly a jack of all trades!

He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Tyrene Mattocks of Maysville, NC; three granddaughters Zaijayla, Zamiya, and Zanala of Maysville, NC; mother, Evelyn Mattocks of Greensboro, NC; four sisters, Joann Howard (Ed) of Philadelphia, Olivia Washington (Clyde) of Jacksonville, NC, Pamela Moore (Tracy) of Greensboro, NC, and Porsha Pointzes of NYC; two brothers, Steve Pointzes (Nataisha) of Greensboro, NC, and Reggie Mattocks (Sandra) of Georgia; goddaughter, Trish Fields of Jacksonville, NC; A host of aunts, uncles, relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by lifelong partner, Cordelia Irene Simmons; son, Teronge Mattocks and brother, Alan Pointzes.

The family will receive friends on Friday October 14, 2022, at Kahlert Funeral Chapel from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday October 15, 2022, 2:00 pm, at H.O. Simmons Christian Church in Maysville. Interment will follow at the White Oak Cemetery.
