Robert Louis Boomer

Robert Lewis “Sam” Boomer, oldest son of the late Lillian and Albert Davis, was born on August 10, 1933, and departed this life on Wednesday, February 17, 2021.
Sam was raised in a Christian home and attended St. Luke A.M.E. Zion Church. Sam was a loving father, brother, uncle and friend always willing to lend a helping hand. He attended Jones County Public Schools. After graduation, he relocated to Bronx, New York.
He worked as a maintenance supervisor at Malcolm King College in Harlem for 12 years. He also worked for Sermans Institution until his retirement. During his residency in Bronx, Sam was introduced to Irma Still. They fell in love and were married. To this union, two sons and a daughter were born; Robert Allen, Sheila Renae and Raymond Lewis.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father; daughter, Sheila; two brothers, Donnie Lee Boomer and Jeffrey Davis; step-brothers and step-sisters, Kenneth Weaver, Loinell Gibbs, Dora Gibbs, Suzie Gibbs, Dave Gibbs and Robert Gibbs.
He leaves to cherish his precious memory, two sons, Robert Allen (Ingrid) Boomer of Maysville, NC, Raymond Lewis (Annette) of Bronx, New York; 6 grandchildren, Kamesia Miller, Kareem Boomer, Jalisa Boomer, Tilisha Boomer and Tiffany Boomer; sister-in-law, Celia Boomer of Bronx, New York; 8 great-grandchildren, Quinya Miller Hill, Jakiah Miller-Hill, Amiyah Miller-Hill, Bentley Hill, Markell Alston and Tori Scott; brother, Albert Bruce Davis of Maysville, NC;
three step-children, William Zellner, Jamal Zellner and Evelyn Zellner; 6 step-grandchildren, Reshod (Samecca) Stang, Shownise Zellner, Ziyeer Zellner, Ramel Smith, Josiah Zellner and Alonte Zellner; three step great-grandchildren, Atayah Tucker, Samiyah Tucker and Makayla Tucker; a very special friend of 31 years, Linda Barrett and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday March 6, 2021 at White Oak Cemetery, Gibson Bridge Rd., Maysville.
