Rebecca "Becky" Jo Amaral

Rebecca “Becky” Jo Amaral, age 61, gained her wings the morning of October 10, 2020, after battling pancreatic cancer.
Rebecca was born in Jacksonville, NC on April 16, 1959. She graduated from White Oak High School and was proud to be a lifelong Viking! Becky worked as a childcare provider through MCCS for 27 years and 7 months. She just retired in September, 2020.
Becky loved people! She had an infectious smile, and made friends with anyone she came in contact with. It didn’t matter how, or if you were related, you were loved like a daughter, son, sister, or brother. She adored her babies from work, and boasted about her precious grandchildren. She loved shopping, playing cards, comedies, and spending time with her family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at 10:30am on Saturday November 7, 2020, at Enon Chapel Baptist Church. Pastor Jim Kelley will officiate. There will be a chance for others to speak or share stories.
Prior to the service, the family will be collecting pictures, either through text, facebook messages, or dropped off to 401 Mossy Oak Lane Jacksonville, NC 28540.
The burial will be held privately.
Rebecca is survived by her husband of 37 years, Joel; Daughter, Jessica; Daughter, Sharon, and her husband Jon; grandsons Jerimiah and Jayden; granddaughters Heidi, Mackinah, and Brynleigh; a niece, who was more like a daughter, Misty, and her husband Tim; their children Chloe and Ethan; brother Ivey Murphy; and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents Garland “Mac” and Mary Murphy; and her son, Joseph.
