Nancy Matthis Parrott

Nancy Matthis Parrott joyfully joined her husband, Seth W. “Hap” Parrott on April 3rd, 2022. She was peaceful and suffered no pain.

She was a member of the Beech Grove United Methodist Church family for many years. Her greatest accomplishment was her devotion to serving the Lord by ministering to those who were incarcerated. She served in a ministry with KAIROS at NCCIW in Raleigh, NC. She taught the message of God’s love and forgiveness to those women imprisoned there and served the women on death row, teaching that God was a loving, forgiving God.

When she was no longer able to travel the distance, she served the Lord through Yokefellow Ministry at Craven Correction Facility in Vanceboro, NC. She was engaged in bible study with the inmates there teaching the word of God and spreading the news that all who asked could be forgiven. She felt that those who suffered most needed understanding, kindness, and most of all the love only our Lord could provide.

She was blessed in many ways… with friends, family, and the assurance of God’s love. She will truly be missed.

She is survived by her daughters, Regina Parrott Wheeler and son-in-law, Stephen C. Wheeler, Jr., Elizabeth P. Davis, and son-in-law, Jimmy Davis; son, Leon Joseph Parrott and daughter-in-law, Karen Parrott; grandchildren, Edwin Seth Parrott, Carissa D. Osborn and husband, Matt Osborn, Melina A.D. Bundy and husband, Josh Bundy, Kristy Hope Gentry and husband, Adam Gentry.

A Celebration of Nancy’s Life will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, April 18, 2022, at Beech Grove United Methodist Church with Pastor Connie Stutts and Damon King officiating.
