Mary Jane Eddings

Several weeks after her 89th Birthday MARY JANE EDDINGS passed away peacefully after a brief stay at CarolinaEast Medical Center.

Mary Jane is survived by her husband of 67 years Robert (Bob) Eddings; her brothers Clifford (Margaret) Elms, and David (Jeanne) Elms of Pennsylvania and sister Nancy Goode of Florida. Mary Jane will also be missed by Nieces and Nephews, friends and neighbors.

Mary Jane had a longtime career in Health Care as an RN. Upon retiring in New Bern, North Carolina she volunteered for many years at CarolinaEast Medical Center.

Mary Jane and Bob, were among the first to build and settle in a beautiful community surrounded by the Croatan National Forest.

Mary Jane was an amazing gardener and earned a “Master Gardener” certification under the guidance of the North Carolina State Extension Service.

She went on to landscape their property using North Carolina Native Plants. This was without doubt a garden plan and design….before her time.

Mary Jane enjoyed holidays, birthday celebrations, and casual visits. She would often tell stories of her youth which included extensive travel to Europe and South America.

Mary Jane Eddings completed her genealogy research, the old fashioned way, by scrolling through archival pages of old newspapers and historic records.

She will be missed by her loving husband Bob, family, friends and neighbors.
