Lila Blanche Parsons Mallard
On Sunday, September 18, 2022, Lila Blanche Parsons Mallard, loving mother and grandmother passed away at the age of 101 years old.
Blanche Parsons was born on January 12th, 1921, in Onslow County and grew up along White Oak River Rd. She was one of the first to attend White Oak School when it opened in 1927 and played on the basketball team. There she met her husband, Iredell Mallard whom she married in 1939. The two were lifelong farmers and raised three children, Gary, Elyse, and Sherrie.
Blanche lived a life of hard work and dedication to her family and the Lord. She was the oldest living member of First Baptist Church in Maysville. Blanche tended to her vineyard, one of the oldest in Onslow County, even picking grapes a week before her passing.
Blessed beyond belief with her good health and sharp mind, she was an inspiration to others in the way she lived her life. Blanche was cherished by all who loved and knew her.
Survived by daughters Elyse Brownley, Sherrie Criscitiello; grandchildren Donna Fulford, Tina Mallard Saunders, Brandi Criscitiello, Derek Criscitiello, Shaun Criscitiello; 5 Great-grandchildren, and 6 Great-Great-Grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband Iredell and son Gary.
Visitation will be held at Kahlert Funerals & Cremations on Tuesday, Sept. 20th from 6-7:30 pm.
A private funeral service will be held at Mallard Family Cemetery.
