Judith (Judi) Ridgway-Steffa

Judith (Judi) Ridgway-Steffa went home to be with Jesus Friday, January 28, 2022 at the age of 77.

The second oldest of seven children, Judi was a beloved mom, grandmom, great-grandmom, sister, daughter, aunt, friend, and confidant. Throughout her life she touched so many lives. She was a Registered Nurse, neighborhood Mom, and lay counselor who always made a friend of everyone she met. She could strike up a conversation with anyone anywhere and always tried to find ways to help people. She will be greatly missed this side of Heaven.

She is survived by her six children: Donald Steffa, Jr. and his wife, Carolyn, of Kinston, NC; BethAnn Boyd and her husband, Dwayne, of Granstboro, NC; Michael Steffa of New Bern; Brian Steffa, Sr. of Vanceboro, NC; Patricia Steffa of New Bern; and Jonathan Steffa and his wife, Jessica, of Miami, FL; fifteen wonderful grandchildren; eight beautiful great-grandchildren; her mother, Myrtle Booye (NJ); three sisters: Katherine Edwards and her husband, Robert (NC), Muriel Baker and her husband, Scott (NC), and Faith White and her husband, Steve (NJ); two sisters-in-law: Arlene Ridgway (WV) and Arlene Ridgway (NC); as well as several nieces and nephews. She is now reunited with her three siblings (Maurice (Merce) Inman Ridgway, Jr., David Ridgway Sr., and Elaine Ridgway Johnson) and father (Maurice Inman Ridgway, Sr.) who preceded her in death.

Services will be held Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Temple Church, 1500 Kingdom Way, New Bern, NC 28562. Pastor Dwayne Boyd will be officiating. Visitation is from 1-2pm. Service will be at 2pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made in memorial to one of her favorite charities: Mercy Ships, Orphan’s Promise, Pre-Born!, Temple Church Capital Building Campaign, or your church.
