Joyce S. Manning

Joyce S. Manning, 86, of Vanceboro North Carolina, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones at her family home on Sunday, November 21, 2021. Born in Ayden, NC, daughter of Leon and Jessie Smith.

Joyce worked for the North Carolina Forestry Service, was a nursing homes supervisor and operated her own antique business.

She loved spending time with her family, traveling, quilting, reading, doing puzzles and collecting antiques.

She was a member of Clarks United Methodist Church, New Bern, NC.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William (Billy) Benjamin Manning, her brothers LJ. Bruce, Ronnie, and sister Betty. She is survived by a sister Dorothy, brothers Payne and Preston. Joyce is survived by her three daughters; Gelea (Harry) Fillingame of Vanceboro, NC, Kay (Mark) Armstrong of Goldsboro, NC, and Cathy (Rob) Bodle of New Bern, NC; two grandsons, Matthew (Amber) Fillingame, Charles Armstrong; and 2 great-grandchildren, Gabriel and Riley Fillingame.

A visitation will be held Saturday, November 27th from 1-2 pm at Clarks United Methodist Church in New Bern with a funeral service immediately following. Burial will be at Spring Garden Cemetery.
