Janet Marie Dudley James

On August 30, 1955, a vibrant and bold spirit in the name of Janet Marie Dudley was born to Adell and Estella Dudley in Brooklyn, NY. She departed this earthly life on Sunday, September 19, 2021, in New Bern, North Carolina. Her parents Adell and Estella Dudley preceded her in death. Her brothers Ronald, Steven, and Kenneth also preceded her in death.

Janet relocated from Brooklyn, NY to Pollocksville, North Carolina with her family on July 29, 1972, and she finally settled in Maysville, North Carolina. Janet was very artistic, a gift she passed to her son Joe Dudley. She worked many years on Camp Lejeune, Jacksonville, North Carolina and received several awards and accolades for her dedication and work ethic. Janet had a generous spirit and wanted to help everyone she could.

Janet is survived by her only son Retired Sergeant First Class Joe Dudley and his wife Leslie Dudley (Hinesville, GA). Her sister Regina Dudley (VA); Grandchildren Jodii Dudley (TX), Oksana Lopez(TX), Tony Stokes (Germany), Asaiah Dudley (TN), Neylani Dudley (TN), Gabriella Dudley (GA); 5 Great Grand Kids; One nephew Lerone Dudley (Charlotte, NC) 4 Nieces Lachoy Moses (VA), Altona Bell (VA), Ronelle and Tyishia Dudley (NY); her special sisters Diane Kinsey New Bern, NC, Annius Kinsey, Kinston, NC, Yvonne “Jippa” Jappa (Brooklyn, NY), Roselyn Swinton (NY) and a host of cousins and dear friends and her very special cousins, Norman Hill, Sr., Lisa H. Moore, and Milton Dudley, all of Maysville, NC.

Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at White Oak Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, September 24, 2021, at Kahlert Funerals & Cremations in Maysville.
