Henry "Clay" Ellis

Henry "Clay" Ellis, 53, of Vanceboro, departed this life on Friday, July 30, 2021.

Clay was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish, hunt and even enjoyed working in the log woods. He will be remembered as “Cletius” by many of his friends.

He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Brandon Clay Ellis of Vanceboro; daughter, Amber Ellis Foster and husband, Jonathan of New Bern; brother, Wayne Ellis of Vanceboro; sisters, Janice McCoy of Vanceboro and Teresa Morris and husband, Calvin of Vanceboro; four grandchildren, Lilly Ann, Branson Ray, Ashdon Clay and Lillian; and a host of several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Mavis Ellis.

A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at West Vanceboro Church of God. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
