Glenn Arthur Hamilton



Glenn Arthur Hamilton, 87, of New Bern, NC, went to the loving arms of Jesus in the morning of September 14, 2022. He was born in Fresno, California to Arthur Grant Hamilton and Venita Ione Henderson Hamilton and as a boy he worked in his dad‘s brake shop. He graduated from Biola Bible College and Talbert Theological Seminary. He entered the Army as a chaplain in 1966 and served at the bases in Alaska, Texas, Vietnam and North Carolina until December 1978. Then he moved to New Bern, where he was a real estate broker and an instructor at Craven Community College. He has two children by his first marriage, John Hamilton and Carol Hamilton Boyd (Jim). In 1982, he married Bobbie Downing and had two daughters, Shannon Hamilton Arthur (Daryl) and Crystal Hamilton Bulman (David). Glenn is survived by his wife, four children, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one younger brother, Richard Hamilton (Sonya). He attended Tabernacle Baptist Church. He delighted in studying God’s Word and was quick to speak of God’s goodness and faithfulness. He was he was a loving father and husband who was greatly loved and will be sorely missed. A Celebration of Glenn's Life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Tabernacle Baptist Church in New Bern. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
