Dorothy Helen Wilson Durham

Dorothy Helen Wilson Durham, 94, of Dover, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, August 27, 2021.

Dorothy was a loving woman with a huge heart for the Lord, her family, and Fort Barnwell Baptist Church where she was a faithful member. Dorothy was always up for adventure and traveling: especially if the destination was Atlantic City. She also had a passion for reading and doing puzzles. While taking care of her family, tending to her flower beds, watching the birds and hummingbirds, she still found time to pass on her knowledge to the next generations.

Although she will be greatly missed her legacy will live on through her greatest joy: her family. Her gracious and loving manner will forever be engrained in the hearts of those who knew her.

She leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Jimmy Durham and wife, Pinky of Dover, Ronald Durham and wife, Barbara of Stokes Town Road, Donald Durham of Dover and Bruce Durham and Jessica of Clarks; daughters, Audrey D. Davis, and husband, Curtis of Cove City, Faye D. Meadows of Maysville and Lois D. Ormond and husband, Ervin of Fort Barnwell; sister, Elizabeth Long of Whiteville; 17 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren and a special nephew, Francis Lane.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, James Durham; parents, Fred and Helen Wilson; four grandchildren, Rodney Durham, Carlton Durham, Allyssa Colclough, and Charlie Rowe; brother, Thurl Wilson, and sister, Exidell Mitchell.

Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, August 30, 2021, at Fort Barnwell Baptist Church Cemetery, 9335 NC Highway 55 W, Dover, NC 28526. The Family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, at the Fort Barnwell Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
