Donnie Chapman, 64, of New Bern, went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 14, 2022
Donnie was a loving, caring, and charismatic man, but also had a silly side. He was known for his sense of humor and striking confidence (even calling himself “Don Juan”), to the delight of his wife, daughters, siblings and friends. Donnie loved his family and worked hard to be there for them with whatever they needed; even helping with hours of tough homework. His daughters, LeVette and Chenee, recall him as the most intelligent man they knew; one who was full of a wealth of knowledge and wisdom.
Others remember Donnie as the “coolest man and best dressed in town.” Donnie took pride in his appearance and always wanted to look the part. He never met a stranger and could always find common ground for conversation. It would be an understatement to say that he was charming and charismatic.
Donnie will be greatly missed by all of those who knew and loved him.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 23 years, Sandra Yvette Chapman; daughters, Levette Whitfield, Sherref Chapman and Chenee Harris all of New Bern; grandchildren, Shantia Chapman, Alisha Wallace and Najhahira Wise; brothers, Roy Chapman and Tony Chapman and wife, Monita Wiltshire Chapman all of New Bern; sister, Sharlene Chapman of New Bern; uncle, John Martin of New Jersey; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday January 20, 2022 at Kahlert Funeral Chapel in Maysville.
