David Edward Frausto
Celebrating the Life of David Edward Frausto
David Edward Frausto, age 53, passed away on October 27, 2021 at Hubert, NC. David was born on October 13, 1968, the son of Joe and Virginia (Ybarra) Frausto in Phoenix, AZ. He graduated from Sunnyslope High School in Phoenix, AZ. David enlisted into the US Marine Corps on April 28, 1987 was medically discharged on November 15, 1989.
On April 19, 2003 he married Diane Sackett in Phoenix, AZ. Dave and Diane settled in Hubert, NC and enjoyed 18 years of marriage. He was employed at High Speed Gear at Swansboro, NC.
Dave was of unwavering faith in God and enjoyed pool, bowling and socializing with his friends. He was known for his kindness and helping hand; and he loved living in the Marine Corps community of Camp Lejeune. David touched many friends and strangers with his friendly smile, laughter and jokester behavior. Throughout his life, Dave had many nicknames. All through high school he was known as Ponch to his fellow classmates. Madison, his granddaughter, called him Boopa once she started talking and she still uses it to this day. Later, Dave made wonderful breakfast burritos that he would give to friends and neighbors, whom gave him the nickname, Burrito Dave.
He is survived by his wife, his son, Daniel Frausto of Mandan, ND, two step-daughters, Danielle Sackett of San Antonio, TX and Nicole Sackett of Virginia Beach, VA, granddaughter Madison Leroux of San Antonio, TX, grandson Zane Frausto of Mandan, ND, his parents of Prescott Valley, AZ, his brother, Joe Frausto, Jr, (Tamra) of Everett, WA and former wife, Susan Moore Frausto of Phoenix, AZ. Dave was preceded in death by his grandparents; Juan & Francisca (Canez) Ybarra of Phoenix, AZ and Eulalio & Lucia (Flores) Frausto of Phoenix, AZ.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Kahlert Funeral Home, 308 Main Street, Maysville, NC. The family will be receiving friends half an hour prior to the service, 6:30 pm to 7:00 pm and immediately following the service until 8:30 pm at the funeral home. We ask that you wear your favorite t-shirt as Dave loved his unique t-shirts and enjoyed wearing them around town.
Interment will be held at the National Cemetery of Arizona on January 28, 2022 with Military Honors.
