Christine Jenkins

On Wednesday, November 24th, 2021, our beloved wife and mother, Christine Jenkins, was mercifully called home to suffer no more. Her battle with lung cancer over, she is now pain free, and is alive and well in heaven. “Well done, come home my good and faithful servant.” Christine was born on October 10, 1947, to Helen Mae Williams and Oscar Brent Ellis in Washington, NC. She grew up in Vanceboro as one of eight children and eventually made her home in Bridgeton, NC where she lived out the rest of her days. Christine became an E.M.T., a profession she loved because she was helping others. This wasn’t just her job, but her true calling in life. She is survived by the love of her life, her husband, Joseph “Ronald” Jenkins; son, Joseph “Brian” Jenkins (Glenda); granddaughter, Andrea Jenkins; sisters, Lucille Partone of PA, Barbara Carrawan of New Bern, Betty Jean McCadden (Rick) of SC; sister-in-law, Elgie Ellis of Arizona; brothers, Ronald Ellis (Sheryl) of Wilmington and Robert Williams (Linda) of New Bern; countless nieces, nephews, and other family members. She also had several lifelong friends that by love and respect became family of the heart. Those who preceded her in death and waiting at Heaven’s Gate with open arms are her mother, Helen Williams, father, Oscar Ellis and her brothers, Buddy Ellis, Ray Ellis and Graham Ellis. During her final months Christine received at home care through Craven County Hospice. We would like to thank them, especially nurse Joy, for the excellent care, concern and dignity they provided. The family would like to thank Jimmy Jenkins for everything that he has done and continues to do to help us get through this season of our life. "All things are possible through God who gives us strength."
