Barbara Tilley Tadlock

Barbara Tilley Tadlock, age 77, died peacefully on November 15, 2021, in the presence of her loving husband James (Jimmy) Tadlock, and her two children.

Barbara was born on December 18, 1943, in Durham, NC to Claude Stroud “Strut” Tilley, Jr. and Laurie Gladstone Tilley. The Tilleys moved to New Bern in 1952. Barbara graduated from New Bern High School in 1962 where she was Homecoming Queen. Barbara was also a charter member of Garber United Methodist Church where she volunteered her time for many years.

Barbara was a devoted wife to her husband Jimmy of nearly 30 years. She was a selfless mother who ensured that her children never missed a sports practice or dance rehearsal. Barbara loved playing bridge and valued lifelong friendships with the bridge club and many others.

In addition to her husband, Barbara is survived by her children Allyson Anders Fisch and Jonathan Anders, her stepdaughters Tammy Callahan and Toni Clegg, and her brother Claude Stroud Tilley, III. Her six grandchildren knew her as Ba Ba and include Rose Mary Anders, Jack Anders, Charlotte Fisch, Kai Fisch, Nash Clegg, and Cole Clegg.

The family would like to thank the healthcare professionals in the intensive care unit at CarolinaEast Medical Center for their expertise, professionalism, and compassion for Barbara and her family.

Services will be held at Garber United Methodist Church on Friday, November 19, 2021 at 2PM. A reception will follow at New Bern Golf and Country Club. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that gifts be made to Garber UMC Building Fund in Barbara’s name.
