Bruce Lee Blackwelder

Bruce Lee Blackwelder, 65 of Jacksonville, was born on July 24, 1954 to the late Germaine Elyse Blackwelder and Buren Levi Blackwelder in Camp Kilmer, New Jersey. He departed this life on June 18, 2020.

As a young man, he attended Langley High School in McLean, Virginia, Frederick Military Academy in Portsmouth, Virginia, Ferrum College in Ferrum, Virginia and Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Florida.

Later, he served his country in the United States Navy with 3 years in active duty and the US Navy Reserve with the Squadron VP-68 Orion.

After serving in the military, Bruce relocated to North Carolina and resided in Richlands and Jacksonville. Upon relocating he worked at Convergys and at Don Williamson Nissan. Bruce thoroughly enjoyed his coworkers and job working as an auto detailer and inventory check-in for eight years, until his recent retirement in 2020.

Bruce once took his sister to the Summit Point Race Track, where they enjoyed watching cars race and met the actor, Paul Newman. Bruce enjoyed music and reading novels. He also loved animals, and his favorite hobby of building model cars and aircraft to specs.

Bruce leaves to cherish his memory his sister, Teresa Anne “Terry” Blackwelder and step- mother, Jane Blackwelder both of Thousand Oaks, CA.
