Edward McCoy Wood

Edward McCoy Wood, 66 of New Bern, went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 7, 2020.

Ed was the son of William Douglas Wood Sr. and Mary Agnes Edwards. He was born in Seaboard, Northampton County, North Carolina on February 7, 1954. Ed proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1971-1982 as a Munitions Truck Driver then excelled to the rank of Sergeant and became Munitions Systems Supervisor. He married the love of his life, Thongluen Wood, in 1973, while stationed in Thailand. After military service, Ed and Thongluen settled in Austin, TX and worked as a Truck Driver until he retired in July of 2019. In August of 2019, Ed and Thongluen moved to New Bern, NC to be closer to family. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Wilburt Wood, and his half-brother William D. Wood Jr. Ed is survived by his wife of 47 years, Thongluen Wood, and half-sister Earlene Wood-Reynolds of Gaithersburg, MD.

A Celebration of Edward's Life will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, March 12, 2020, at Brice's Creek Bible Church, 3998 US Highway 70 E, New Bern, NC 28560.
