Ruth Grube Tyler

Ruth Grube Tyler, 95 of McCarthy Blvd in New Bern, went to her heavenly home on October 29, 2018. She was born in Lynn, Massachusetts on August 4, 1923 and moved to New Bern in 1986 from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Since moving to New Bern, she was active in the life of First Presbyterian Church and a former volunteer at Religious Community Services, New Bern’s Woman’s Club, YMCA, New Bern Historical Society, Scottish Heritage Society, Council of Friends of Tryon Palace and the Craven Arts Council. Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. You were loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure. Ruth leaves to cherish her memory her children, David and wife, MaryAnn of Minneapolis, MN, Douglas and wife, Janice of New Bern, James and wife, Janis of Waukesha, WI, and Donald of Minneapolis, MN; daughter-in-law, Patricia and husband, Todd of Minneapolis, MN; grandchildren, Dennis and wife, Melissa, Chaya and husband, Scott, Allyson, Cassie, Kayla, John and wife, Jenny, Samuel and wife, Heidi, Julia, Calvin, William, Ellen, Andrew, Grant and Rebekah; great-grandchildren, Miranda, David, Alexander, Benjamin, Hunter, Katherine, Athelia and Emery. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur, son, Richard Tyler and grandson, Travis Tyler. Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday December 1, 2018 at First Presbyterian Church in New Bern with Rev. William Hawkins officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to First Presbyterian Church Capital Building Fund, Religious Community Services or to the charity of ones choosing.
