Rev. William Herman Snyder

William Herman Snyder was born on March 27, 1933 in Rome, New York to Herman & Edith Snyder and went to be with his Lord and Savior on June 18, 2018.

As a young man, William graduated from Holland Patent High School and Eastern Bible Institute, Green Lane, PA. In 1965 he was ordained as a minister with the Assemblies of God, NY District. He pastored in PA, CA and NY, was a Minister of Pastoral Care and Counseling in NJ and taught at Long Island Bible Institute. William also worked as a civilian for the US Government after serving in the US Army during the Korean War. After retiring he moved to Newport.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Dickinson, and just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 7th. They married in Middletown, NY in 1958 and in 1960 had a son, David, who now resides in New Bern. They have two grandsons, Shawn and Kyle and two great-granddaughters. He is also survived by two sisters, Janet Heldman, Holland Patent, NY and Lois Michel, Rome, NY and one brother, Lawrence, Rome, NY. Two sisters, Beverly and Shirley predeceased him in death.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on June 30th at Crystal Coast Assembly of God, Peletier, NC on Rt. 58 with Rev. H.C. Hardesty officiating. Interment will be in Floyd, NY Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, it is requested that contributions be given to Crystal Coast Assembly of God Benevolent Fund, 1367 Hwy 58, Peletier, NC 28584.
