Charlie "Ray" (Poor Boy) Meadows, 76, of Maysville, passed away at home on Friday, April 6, 2018, surrounded by his wife & children, after a long & courageous battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis.
He was born in Maysville to the late Charlie and Nellie Meadows. He is survived by his dedicated wife of 57 years Wanda Harper Meadows, son: Donald Ray Meadows & wife Angie of Maysville, daughters: Susan Scott & husband Michael of New Bern, Wanda Kaye Jones & husband Darrell of Maysville, Melanie Berg & husband Ned of Trenton, Angela Eubanks & husband Randy of Jacksonville. Brothers: Robert Meadows & Joe Meadows. Sisters: Kathleen Ketchum, Mary Ross, Carolyn Mercer, Deborah Ketchum, Judy Meadows, Ada Meadows. Pa leaves behind 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren. Also, special friends Glenn & Gwynn Russell. He was predeceased by brothers: George Donald Meadows and James Meadows and sisters: Jackie Ketchum and Hattie Marcy. Ray retired after 43 years of service with Barrus Construction Co. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 pm, Monday April 9, 2018, at First Baptist Church in Maysville. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm at the church. Interment will be at Dogwood Cemetery in Maysville at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 10, 2018. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church in Maysville.
