Walter Daniel Meadows

Walter Daniel Meadows, 72 of Maysville, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday September 18, 2017 at Crystal Coast Hospice House in Newport.
Walter never met a stranger. He had a true heart of gold. He would give you the shirt off his back, even if he didn't know you. He was a member of Maysville United Methodist Church where he served as a Trustee. Walter was also an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and enjoy the majesty of God's creation. Mornings he knew like any other, waking up early to go sit and wait. He waited to hear the sound of the hounds running and howling, the leaves crunching below their feet and the excitement of what was to come. He was a friend to many.
Walter's memory will forever be engrained in the hearts of those who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy Meadows; sons, Richard Allen Meadows and Marcus Wayne Meadows both of Pamlico County; daughters, Misty Nicole Meadows of the home and Maryann J. Boone of Maysville; brother, Milton Meadows of Maysville; sister, Faye North of Emerald Isle; 2 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Walter's Life will be held at 1:30 pm on Friday September 22, 2017 at Maysville United Methodist Church in Maysville with Rev. Neal Salter officiating. Interment will follow at Greenleaf Memorial Park in New Bern.
The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday September 21, 2017 at Maysville United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Walter's memory to Maysville United Methodist Church or to help aid in the recovery of the many devastated by the recent hurricanes.
