Della Tucker Garner

Della Tucker Garner was born on August 27, 1935 in Pitt County, North Carolina to the late Elijah Tucker and Glendora Mills. She was the fourth child out of eight children. She united in marriage on March 22, 1962 for 28 years to the late Joel H. Garner. Out of this marriage she had seven children; Raymond (Tina Tucker) of Trenton, Linwood (Lynn Tucker) of Indianapolis, IN, Johnnie (Angela Tucker) of James City (New Bern), NC, Joel (Cleona Garner) of Dover, NC, the late James W. Garner of James City (New Bern), NC, Sylvia Haddock of Maysville, NC, and Jimmy L. Garner of James City (New Bern), NC.

She also leaves to cherish her memory her four

brothers, Charlie Tucker, Elijah Tucker, Jimmy L. Tucker, Auther L. Tucker; sister, Gloria Jean Tucker; two brother-in-law's, Allen Garner, Willie James Garner; sister-in-law Lucy Ann Koonce of Kinston, NC; two granddaughters, Niki and Ayonna Tucker of Indianapolis, IN, one grandson, Corey Tucker; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and a special goddaughter Joelynn Hill of Maysville.

She is preceded in death by her three sisters, Dora Mae Tucker, Martha Jane Tucker and Barbara Ann Tucker; two brother-in-law's, George Garner and Samuel Garner; granddaughter, Clarita Marie Garner and grandson,

Thomas Earl Haddock.

Della will be remembered as a hard worker, which was evident in her farm work, and as a mother who always took care of her family.
