Donald Ray Southard Sr. passed away at the age of 65 on April 8, 2017, in Newport, NC. Donald was born o

n March 10, 1952, in Jacksonville, NC, to Bernie Clark Southard and Peggy Thompson Southard. He grew up with five siblings, Pat, Susan, Sam, Richard, and Michael. He worked as a logger, a laborer, and a truck driver. He was always a hard worker and dedicated husband, father, brother, and son. He married Veronica Nisely Southard in October 1981, and he was the proud father of Danielle Miller and Donald Southard Jr. He was blessed with five grandchildren, Joey, Jackson, Jayla, Steven and Matthew. He was a wonderful Pappy! Donald was loved by everyone who knew him. His amazing personality, loving heart, and incredible sense of humor will be remembered most of all. He gave his whole heart to the Lord and had faith in Jesus Christ as his savior.
