Glen Bowling

Glen Davis Bowling, 48, had passed away in his sleep at home in New Bern, North Carolina on November 8, 2016. Glen was born in Burlington, North Carolina on June 17, 1968. At the tender age of 6, Glen and his brother Kirk joined an outdoor youth group, Indian Guides, with their father, Wlliam L Bowling until Glen and his family moved to New Bern, North Carolina when Glen was 8 years old.

He attended H. J. MacDonald Junior High School and was a member of the local karate club, earning a green belt and competing in karate tournaments until he was diagnosed with Osgood-Schlatter's disease. Glen graduated from New Bern Senior High School and attended Appalachian State University. Mr. Bowling was a member of the Veterans Of Foreign Wars. Glen was free spirited, known for his gentle heart, humor, quick wit and would lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He loved fishing and had a passion for the arts. Glen had written poetry, drew, hand carved his wooden canes and dabbled with his guitar. Mr. Bowling was attending Craven Community College and pursuing a degree in electronics at the time of his passing, despite all the obstacles he had encountered. Glen loved and accepted everyone and was loved by all.

Glen is preceded in death his parents William Louis Bowling and Elaine Wooten Bowling, his fraternal grandparents and maternal grandparents Kenneth and Francis Wooten. He is survived by his sister Kendra Lea Bowling and her partner Lisa A Pedone, his brother Kirk London Bowling and his wife Starla and their children Philip, Sarah, Emma, Seth and Luke. Glen is also survived by Uncle Kenneth Jr and Aunt Victoria Wooten and many cousins.

A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday November 23, 2016 at Kahlert Funerals & Cremations, 308 Main Street, Maysville, NC, 28555 at 11:00am.

An informal celebration of Glen's life will be held Wednesday November 23, 2016 at Tracey Thrippleten's house, 2300 Brices Creek Road, New Bern, NC 28562 following Glen's Memorial Service. Tracy's Cell#: (252) 571-7169
