Hazel Marie Jenkins Riggs

Hazel Marie Jenkins Riggs, 85, of Maysville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday November 13, 2016. She was met in Glory by her husband, Jesse Riggs and daughter, Diane Riggs Hargrove.

Hazel was a loving woman with a huge heart for the Lord, her family and Grants Creek Baptist Church where she was a faithful member. She had a passion for reading and loved to do word finds. Her door and table were always open to those who entered. Her loving heart and kind spirit will be missed by all who knew her.

“Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.” Proverbs 31:31

Hazel leaves to cherish her memory her children, Allen Riggs, Judy Futrelle (Wade), Annie Meadows (Milton), Mary Lowery (Frankie Sr.), Jessie Deglau (James), and James Riggs; grandchildren, Danielle Martin (Dammion), Frankie Lowery Jr. (Nicole), Michael Hargrove, Lynn Futrelle (Chad), Hope Avery (Joseph), and Jennifer Deglau; great-grandchildren, Jordan Hendrix (Akilah), Micah Hendrix, Kaela Hendrix-Lopez (Luis), DeAndria Futrelle, Myah Martin, Tobias Marion, and Levi Lowery; one great great-grandchild, Amari Hendrix.

A Celebration of Hazel’s Life will be at 2 pm on Wednesday November 16, 2016 at Grants Creek Baptist Church in Maysville with Pastor Sandy Bain and Rev. Frankie Lowery Sr. officiating. Interment will follow at the Riggs Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 pm to 8 pm on Tuesday November 15, 2016 at Grants Creek Baptist Church.
