Joe Douglas Griggs

Joe Douglas Griggs, 58, of Pollocksville, departed this life on Monday July 25, 2016.

He was an avid golfer and a member of Quaker Neck Country Club, enjoyed fishing, was an animal lover and especially loved his cat Bobbie Bobtail.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 18 years, Deborah; three daughters, Kimberly Langlois and husband Glenn; Kristina Odum and husband Henry, and Jennefer Stallings and husband David; two brothers, George William Griggs and wife Lydia, and James Daniel Griggs and wife Mary; sister, Alice Jane Johnson and husband David; five grandchildren, Ethan, Kristian, Devin, Kaleigh, and Presley.

His parents, George and Minnie Griggs and sister, Linda Carol preceded him in passing.

A Celebration of Joe's Life will be held at 11 am on Friday July 29, 2016 at Kahlert Funeral Chapel in Maysville with Chaplain James Marshburn officiating. Interment will follow at the Wilson Family Cemetery in Pollocksville. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Thursday July 28, 2016 at the funeral home.
