Ulysses Mattocks

Mr. Ulysses Mattocks, son of the late Katie B. Mattocks Duncan, was born on January 29, 1936 in Maysville, NC. He quietly departed this life on Monday, May 30, 2016 at Onslow Memorial Hospital.

He attended the Onslow County school system and later worked for the Goodson Logging Company, where he

retired.

At an early age, he professed his faith in Jesus Christ and joined Deliverance Evangelistic Temple under the leadership of Apostle L.O. Sanders, where he was a dedicated member until his health declined. He was united in holy matrimony to the late Jannie B. Meadows Mattocks.

Ulysses leaves to cherish his memories… his six children: Ruba J. Meadows of Belgrade, NC, Sarah B. Mattocks,

Viccie E. Mattocks, Clemestine Mattocks all of Jacksonville, NC, Audrey F. Mattocks of Maysville, NC and Angela M. Landers of Cary, NC; five brothers, the late Freddie Jordan (Eartha Jordan) of Jacksonville, NC, Reander Mattocks (Brenda), Gerald Mattocks, Derk Mattocks (Aracely) all of Maryland and Melvin Duncan of South Carolina; six sisters, Norma Smith (Cornella) of Maryland, Clora B. Point,

Perrylee McAllister, Gladys Burton, Martha Oates and

Bernice Leathers (Daniel) all of Maysville, NC. He also leaves twenty-two grandchildren, forty great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Ulysses Mattocks was also joined in holy matrimony to the late Hattie Dorsey- Mattocks.

Ulysses truly enjoyed life and being surrounded by all of his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.

If our dad could speak to us now he would say, “It is Well.”

A Celebration of Ulysses' Life will be held at 2 pm on Saturday June 4, 2016 at Deliverance Evangelistic Temple in Jacksonville, 120 Country Club Road. Repast will be held in The Deliverance Evangelistic Temple immediately following the service.

Interment will follow at the Mattocks Family Cemetery, 5 pm in Belgrade, NC.
