Harvey Joe Massey
Harvey Joe Massey was an amazing father, grandfather, brother, son and uncle. Not only that, but he had extreme compassion for all animals and loved his family to no end. He was born to Gunnery Sergeant O.E. Massey and Ida Elizabeth Massey on January 1st, 1963 in Quantico, Virginia.
Harvey loved the outdoors and thoroughly enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He has 2 daughters, Maryann Edwards and Mckaylah Massey, and 3 grand children, Ladonta Edwards, Amira Edwards and Adereon Massey. Harvey has been married to his wife, Susan Massey for 33 years.
Harvey loved to work on cars and could fix anything that was brought to him. Although, his favorite pastime must have been making people laugh and joking others for anything he could. Everybody around him would be in tears from laughing because of him and his jokes. It is very easily said that anybody who has crossed his path was at the other end of at least one of his jokes. Anybody who has been in his home for dinner and really talked to Harvey, just fell in love with his personality. Harvey Joe will be missed for his humor, his compassion and his love for his family and animals.
A Celebration of Harvey's Life will be held from 2 to 4 pm on Saturday April 30, 2016 at Broad Creek Christian Church. Graveside service will be held at 3 pm on Sunday May 1, 2016 at New Bern Memorial Cemetery.
