Irene "Rene" Riggs

Irene "Rene" Riggs, 90, of the Grants Creek Community, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at her home. Rene was a lifelong member of Grants Creek Missionary Baptist Church and dedicated her commitment to Christ as the church pianist.

The services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, September 19, at Grants Creek Missionary Baptist Church; interment will follow at the Riggs Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends and family on Friday September 18 at Grants Creek Missionary Baptist Church from 6 to 8 pm.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, V.O. “Johnny’’ Riggs.

Survivors include sons David O. Riggs and Andy B. Riggs of Maysville; daughter LuAnne Prince of Maysville; seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grants Creek Missionary Baptist Church 1401 Old 30 Road, Maysville, NC 28555.
