Joseph (Joey) Kenneth Simes

Joseph Kenneth Simes, age 21, passed away on April 28th in Jacksonville, NC. Joey was born on June 3, 1993 at Blake Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, Florida. He moved to Waxhaw, NC in 2002 with his family. He was a 2011 graduate of Parkwood High School in Monroe, NC.

Joey was a kind soul who was absolutely loved by everyone who's lives he touched. An avid fan of metal, punk and alternative music, tattoos and his signature Mohawk hairstyles that he wore throughout his teen and adult life.

Joey is survived by his parents, Darren and Kimberly Simes of Waxhaw; his sisters, Tiffany Simes of Bradenton, FL, Brooklyn Simes of Waxhaw, NC, and his twin brother Justin Simes of Louisville, KY; maternal grandparents Ken and Diane Irwin of Ellenton, FL and John Sommerville of St. Charles, MO. Proceeded in death by his paternal grandparents Bruce and Judy Simes of Bradenton, FL.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, May 16th at 2pm, Waxhaw Woman's Club, 200 East South Main Street in Waxhaw, NC 28173.

Cremation services were handled by Kahlert Funerals and Cremations of Maysville, NC.
