Doreen McGuigan

New Bern, NC - Doreen M McGuigan, 83, died peacefully on Friday, Sept 26, 2014, at Two Rivers Healthcare-Neuse Campus. A celebration of her life will be scheduled at a later date and time in Long Island, NY. Doreen was born in Milford, New York on November 22, 1930, the daughter of Joseph and Althea Donnelly. In 1947, she graduated from Baldwin High School in Baldwin, NY. Doreen was a member of the New Bern Women's Club and the Historical Society. She volunteered at the Bank of Arts and St. Creations.

Doreen was preceded in death by her husband Daniel McGuigan. She is survived by her son, Daniel McGuigan and wife Caroline, grandsons Danny and Dillion all of South Orange, New Jersey; her brother Joseph Donnelly and wife Judith of New Bern, NC, nieces, Dianne Donnelly of Tampa, Fla., Karen Steele of Margate, Fla. and C.J. Watry and husband Richard of Orlando, Fla. and nephews, Joseph Donnelly and wife Anne of Land O Lakes, Fla., Jeffery Donnelly and wife Michelle of Holmdel, NJ, and Thomas Donnelly of Vanceboro, NC; Sister, Sharon Lynch and husband Cornelius of Farmington Conn., nephew Christopher Lynch of Farmington, Conn and Niece Chandra Graves and husband Paul, Great nieces Piper and Fancie and Great nephew Owen Graves all of Princeton, New Jersey.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial contributions be made to CCHC Foundation journey of Hope, 1010 Medical Park Avenue New Bern NC 28562.
